Hai
I am a critically endangered Leatherback sea turtle. When fully grown in about fifteen years, I would weigh about 800 pounds, regularly dive to a deeper depth than any other sea creature, and migrate across a larger part of the globe than any other animal (except a few whales). But because of building and encroachment upon my nesting habitat and unregulated ocean fishing, statistically, none of my hatchlings will survive. I will probably not survive. Less than one in one-thousand of my species’ eggs survive. In the last twenty years, our numbers have dropped from around 5000 to about 100 (Eastern Pacific Leatherbacks).
Please help by spreading this message, not dropping plastic onto the beach, not eating fish or shrimp of any sort, no matter where it is caught, never eating turtles, and always supporting your national beach parks when possible and of course, SUPPORTING LAWS THAT COMPLETELY RESTRICT BUILDING ON BEACHES.
Thank you
